Miguel Andujar’s option decision gives San Diego another offensive role to evaluate.

San Diego Padres veteran hitter Miguel Andujar has declined his portion of a mutual option for 2027, officially entering free agency. The former New York Yankees standout spent one season with San Diego, leaving the Padres to address another offensive vacancy on their depth chart ahead of next season.
During the 2026 campaign, Andujar batted .259 with five home runs, 20 doubles, and 22 RBIs across 74 games. His season was interrupted by a right wrist fracture suffered in July, which sidelined him until late September before the postseason.
