The Story in 60 Seconds

Bleacher Report columnist Kerry Miller suggested that the San Francisco Giants should prioritize trading third baseman Matt Chapman during the upcoming offseason. Miller highlighted that moving Chapman's remaining four-year, $100 million commitment would be the most preferable way for the franchise to shed significant payroll from its long-term books.

However, Michael Dixon noted that completing a trade would be difficult due to Chapman's full no-trade clause. Additionally, Chapman's declining offensive production and recurring injury issues across the 2025 and 2026 seasons, including managing just seven home runs in 86 games during 2026, complicate finding a willing trade partner.
