The San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser identified Houston Astros closer Josh Hader as an intriguing offseason trade target for the San Francisco Giants. Following a disappointing 65-97 season in 2026, Giants President of Baseball Operations Buster Posey faces pressure to bolster a struggling bullpen that blew 27 save opportunities and posted a 4.14 ERA.
Hader produced a 1.01 ERA and 26 saves across 45 appearances in 2026. However, any potential trade would be complicated by the remaining two years and $38 million on his contract, along with a full no-trade clause.
