San Francisco Giants pitchers Randy Rodríguez and José Butto reached the Super Two cutoff for arbitration set at 2.133 years of service time, while veteran reliever Joel Kuhnel narrowly missed it. Despite missing the cutoff, Kuhnel will receive a World Series ring after appearing in 10 games during the season for the champion Milwaukee Brewers before finishing the campaign with San Francisco.
Kuhnel posted a 2.79 ERA across nine appearances for the Giants late in the season, though Around the Foghorn notes that his broader track record and team roster cuts leave his future uncertain. In contrast, Rodríguez and Butto comfortably qualified for early arbitration eligibility heading into the offseason.
