The Seattle Mariners announced decisions on three club options on Thursday, exercising relief pitcher Andrés Muñoz's $9 million option. Meanwhile, the Mariners declined Victor Robles' $9 million option, making him a free agent alongside players including Randy Arozarena and J.P. Crawford. Seattle also declined Bryce Miller's $6.075 million option, sending the starting pitcher to arbitration while keeping him under team control through 2029.
In addition to the option decisions, the Mariners claimed outfielder Grant McCray off waivers from the San Francisco Giants to bring their 40-man roster to 35. Robles receives a $500,000 buyout and Miller receives a $15,000 buyout as Seattle prepares to reinstate eight players from the 60-day injured list ahead of the free-agency signing window.
