The Yankees kept Judge off the roster for the wild-card series against the Red Sox as he continued his recovery from the "moderate" calf strain he suffered on Sept. 16.
New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge addressed his uncertain availability for the upcoming American League Division Series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Judge missed the wild-card sweep of the Boston Red Sox while recovering from a moderate calf strain sustained on September 16, but stated he is doing everything possible to prepare for Game 1 on Saturday.
While celebrating New York's 9-2 series-clinching win, Judge noted that decisions regarding his status remain pending as he works daily to return. Manager Aaron Boone has not yet confirmed whether Judge will be cleared to play against the top-seeded Rays.
