His former employer was in attendance at Tropicana Field to see the former Met take the mound -- a fact that surprised Peralta.

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Freddy Peralta expressed surprise upon learning that Mets owner Steve Cohen attended his Game 2 start in the ALCS on Tuesday. Peralta tossed six scoreless innings against the Cleveland Guardians at Tropicana Field, helping Tampa Bay even the series at 1-1. Following the game, Peralta noted that he maintained a positive relationship with Cohen despite his midseason departure from New York.
Peralta struggled with the Mets after an offseason trade from Milwaukee, going 5-9 with a 4.99 ERA before being traded to Tampa Bay in August. Since joining the Rays, he posted a 5-2 regular season record with a 3.25 ERA and has allowed only one run across 10.2 postseason innings.
