If the Yankees are going to extend their season beyond Wednesday, they’ll have to figure out a way to beat a right-hander who has plenty of experience playing in The Bronx.

Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Nick Martinez is set to start Game 3 of the ALDS against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Martinez aims to help the Rays eliminate the Yankees, who must win on Wednesday to keep their postseason alive.
Martinez, who played college baseball locally at Fordham University from 2009 to 2011, noted on Tuesday that he frequently took the train to watch games from the Yankee Stadium bleachers with friends on his days off.
