With a first-round bye secured, the Tampa Bay Rays are preparing their pitching staff for the ALDS. Drew Rasmussen is expected to start Game 1, followed by Freddy Peralta and Nick Martinez. Griffin Jax and Ian Seymour project as bulk or relief options, while Bryan Baker, Kevin Kelly, Cam Booser, and Manuel Rodriguez are set to anchor the late innings.
Injuries also factor heavily into roster projections. Shane McClanahan has been ruled out for the ALDS, but Tyler Wells and Garrett Cleavinger could return in time. That leaves two open spots among a pool of relievers that includes veterans Cole Sulser and Steven Matz alongside younger arms.
