Forget about the $430-million payroll. Never mind the home field that now bears the name of a Japanese casual-wear retailer. The Dodgers turned back the clock in their playoff opener on Saturday. There was nothing fancy about their 5-3 victory…

Tarik Skubal delivered a dominant performance to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 5-3 victory over the Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of the National League Division Series. Skubal pitched six innings, allowing just one run while striking out seven batters and retiring 15 consecutive hitters after giving up a leadoff single.
The Dodgers' offense provided support entirely via home runs, including a two-run shot by Teoscar Hernandez, a two-run blast by Kyle Tucker, and a solo homer from Max Muncy. Sean Murphy hit a solo home run for the Braves against Skubal, but Los Angeles secured the series-opening win.
