Texas Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young addressed the media following the club's 80-82 season, taking responsibility for missing the postseason for a third consecutive year. Speaking at Globe Life Field alongside general manager Ross Fenstermaker and manager Skip Schumaker, Young ruled out a full rebuild. Instead, he stated that Texas must reshuffle its roster to become younger, more athletic, and more dynamic ahead of the 2027 season.

Young highlighted significant injuries and underperformance as key obstacles in 2026, noting extended absences for Corey Seager, Wyatt Langford, and Josh Jung. Schumaker and Young both emphasized the need to build roster depth and foster competition, noting that playing time must be earned by developing young players.
