Tigers’ Troy Melton mysteriously leaves start vs. White Sox

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Troy Melton exited Sunday's 8-1 loss to the Chicago White Sox in the fourth inning. Melton left the game after experiencing "achyness" in his arm and is scheduled to undergo further examination. The departure occurred with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning while Chicago was leading 3-0.

Melton was charged with four runs over 3.2 innings, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out four. Pitching coach Chris Fetter, manager AJ Hinch, and assistant athletic trainer Kelly Rhoades visited the mound before Melton left the field. Tyler Holton took over in relief for the Tigers.
