Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. returned to the starting lineup for Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Baltimore Orioles. Guerrero had missed time since exiting Sunday's 7-2 victory over the Texas Rangers due to lower back tightness and sat out Monday's 4-3 defeat to Baltimore.
Manager John Schneider previously noted that Guerrero's back tightness flared up on a stretch play. The Blue Jays face potential elimination from AL wild-card contention, while pitcher Max Scherzer started Game 1 and could pitch again Sunday on short rest.
