Bleacher Report analyst Zachary D. Rymer has predicted that the Toronto Blue Jays will sign free-agent outfielder Seiya Suzuki to address offensive struggles. Toronto missed the postseason in 2026 after struggling at the plate and finishing last in MLB in scoring. Insider Mitch Bannon of The Athletic also reported that a league source indicated Toronto is expected to pursue the Chicago Cubs outfielder.
Suzuki, who originally signed an $85 million guarantee with Chicago in 2022, is projected to command a deal surpassing that figure on a permanent contract this offseason. Across the past season, the right-handed slugger batted .270 with 26 home runs, 86 RBIs, and an .841 OPS to help Chicago qualify for the playoffs.
