Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Dylan Cease has been officially named one of three finalists for the 2026 American League Cy Young Award. MLB announced the finalists on Monday night, pairing Cease alongside Cam Schlittler of the New York Yankees and Parker Messick of the Cleveland Guardians following his standout debut season in Toronto.
Cease posted an 11-6 record with a 2.40 ERA and 239 strikeouts across 169 innings after signing a seven-year, $210 million free-agent deal. Although the writer notes Schlittler appears to be the frontrunner to win the award, Cease led the league in multiple metrics including FIP and strikeouts per nine innings.
