Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. recently underwent laser eye surgery, as announced on Instagram by the Laser Eye Center of Miami and confirmed by Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith. While the exact date of the procedure remains unclear, the surgery is not expected to interfere with Guerrero's offseason preparations.
The 27-year-old is coming off a difficult 2026 season in which he posted career lows with a .356 slugging percentage and just nine home runs in 144 games. MLB Trade Rumors suggests the eye surgery could offer an explanation for Guerrero's uncharacteristic struggles with pitch recognition and strike-zone discipline throughout the year.
