Why Blue Jays fans are buzzing after Tarik Skubal spotted training with Bowden Francis

Free-agent pitcher Tarik Skubal and Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Bowden Francis were recently spotted training together in Phoenix, Arizona. APEX Performance Facility and Francis shared images on social media showing the two pitchers working out, stretching, and playing catch. Skubal, a former Cy Young Award winner who finished the season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, is considered one of the top free agents on the market this off-season.

The off-season workout has sparked interest among Blue Jays fans as Toronto evaluates its rotation needs following an injury-plagued season. The Dodgers and New York Mets are reportedly viewed as top suitors for Skubal, who faces potential market delays due to upcoming Major League Baseball labor negotiations. Meanwhile, Francis was recently activated from the 60-day injured list following his recovery from Tommy John surgery.
