The 34 fastest pitches in the 2026 Arizona Fall League have come from Jarlin Susana, and his fastball is not even as good as his slider.

Washington Nationals top pitching prospect Jarlin Susana has dominated the Arizona Fall League, throwing the circuit's 34 fastest pitches this season. Susana topped out at 103.8 mph on his fastball, with his five fastest pitches all exceeding 103.0 mph. According to the report, his fastball speed would have ranked him as the fifth hardest-throwing pitcher in Major League Baseball during the 2026 season.
Despite the elite velocity of his fastball, scouting evaluations consider Susana's slider to be his best pitch, grading it 70/80 compared to his 60/65 fastball. Susana, who missed nearly a year after tearing a lat muscle in 2025, made only eight minor league appearances in 2026 before entering the AFL. Thomas Carelli notes that Susana is scheduled to make his MLB debut in 2027.
