King’s ’26 breakout reaches the playoffs with clutch HR in Triple-A finals

Washington Nationals prospect Seaver King tallied three hits, including a home run, to lead Triple-A Rochester to a 4-3 victory over Memphis in Game 1 of the International League Finals at AutoZone Park. King hit a broken-bat single, an automatic double, and a 382-foot solo home run that gave the Red Wings a 2-1 lead in the fifth inning.

The 23-year-old shortstop led all Nationals full-season minor leaguers with a .303 batting average and an .898 OPS during the 2026 regular season. The three-hit performance marked King's seventh multi-hit contest over his last 11 games, following a regular season in which he hit 21 home runs across two minor league levels.
