The Washington Nationals plan to retain manager Blake Butera's entire coaching staff for the 2027 season, according to a report from The Athletic. Following a major leadership overhaul led by president of baseball operations Paul Toboni, the young coaching group guided the team to 77 wins in 2026, marking the club's highest win total since 2019.
While the dugout staff remains intact, Washington is making changes to its training and medical departments. The Nationals parted ways with director of medical services Harvey Sharman and chose not to renew the contracts of four other athletic training and conditioning staff members as the team plans to expand biomechanics resources.
