After a disappointing first full season as a pro, Seaver King was at a crossroads entering 2026. If he continued to struggle, the former top 10 pick would lose most of his prospect shine. However, he also had the chance…

Washington Nationals prospect Seaver King produced an impressive bounce-back campaign across Double-A and Triple-A in 2026, putting himself in contention for a major league promotion. The 2024 tenth overall pick rebounded from a difficult 2025 season by batting .303 with 21 home runs and an .898 OPS.
According to writer Sam Sallick, King revived his prospect status through improved plate discipline and by significantly elevating the baseball. While King split defensive time between shortstop, second base, and third base, Sallick expects him to debut in the majors next season as a potential fan favorite.
