Minaya and Sabean had been advisors for Yankees GM Brian Cashman since 2023.
The New York Yankees are shaking up their front office by parting ways with former Major League Baseball general managers Omar Minaya and Brian Sabean. Both executives served as special assistants and advisers to Yankees general manager Brian Cashman since 2023, but the team will not renew their contracts for the 2027 season.
The organizational changes come following another disappointing postseason finish for the Yankees. Despite winning 93 games and finishing second in the American League East, New York was swept in three games by the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series.
