New York Yankees right-hander Clarke Schmidt has been shut down for the remainder of the postseason, manager Aaron Boone announced. Schmidt was unable to recover in time from right biceps neuritis, an injury that originally placed him on the injured list before the end of the regular season.
The former first-round draft pick will now shift his focus toward getting ready for the start of the 2027 campaign. Meanwhile, the Yankees advanced to the American League Division Series following a 2-0 Wild Card Series sweep over the Boston Red Sox.
