Alex Pereira teases major UFC fight news on Instagram, calling it a "big challenge." We break down why Sergei Pavlovich is the most likely opponent.

Former UFC champion Alex Pereira faces a critical juncture in the heavyweight division, with suggestions that a potential loss to Sergei Pavlovich could end his heavyweight ambitions. Pereira has teased an upcoming fight announcement featuring what he described as a big challenge as he looks to rebound inside the Octagon.
Pereira has remained out of action since suffering a TKO loss to Ciryl Gane at UFC Freedom 250 in June 2026. That setback halted his effort to capture the interim heavyweight title, during which the Brazilian claimed illegal strikes to the back of the head contributed to the defeat.
