Luis Francischinelli is the latest addition to the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s welterweight division.
Luis Francischinelli secured a UFC contract after stopping William Rentz via first-round TKO on Week 10 of Dana White's Contender Series Season 10 in Las Vegas on Oct. 13. UFC CEO Dana White praised the 6-foot-6 welterweight, jokingly calling him '10 feet tall' and expressing excitement for his addition to the 170-pound division.
Rentz secured early takedowns before Francischinelli returned to his feet and dropped him with a counter left hook, forcing a stoppage at 2:18 of Round 1. Following the emotional victory, Francischinelli shared that his hospitalized wife had been discharged.
