UFC CEO Dana White has explained why undefeated boxer Shakur Stevenson was released from Zuffa Boxing before ever competing for the promotion. Speaking at the UFC 333 post-fight press conference, White stated that he offered Stevenson his release and Stevenson's team accepted it. White emphasized that both parties agreed to the separation mutually and that there is no bad blood between them.
Stevenson's signing had been viewed as the promotion's premier acquisition since its launch, sparking speculation regarding a potential bout against Devin Haney. However, that fight never materialized, and the partnership ended after just a couple of months without Stevenson having a single fight under the Zuffa Boxing banner.
