One-time Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Khusein Askhabov’s recent win was overturned to a loss.
Former UFC fighter Khusein Askhabov had his victory against Reinaldo Ekson at Airtox Dominance FC 8 overturned to a disqualification loss. Following a review of the October 17 event in Copenhagen, Denmark, the Danish Mixed Martial Arts Federation handed Askhabov and his corner team a 12-month disciplinary suspension.
According to the DMMAF, Askhabov attempted to attack Ekson during a referee timeout called for a suspected eye poke. Although Askhabov was initially awarded a technical knockout win, the federation ruled his conduct a serious violation of the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts.
