Farid Basharat wasn’t offered a new contract with the UFC, despite a 7-0 record and a top 10 ranking with the promotion, but Dana White effectively kicking him on the way out the door may have hurt more than anything…

Farid Basharat expressed deep disappointment over UFC CEO Dana White's public remarks regarding his promotional exit. Despite a 7-0 record inside the Octagon and an overall 16-0 professional record, the bantamweight contender was not offered a new contract. White publicly implied that fighters let go under such circumstances might be difficult to deal with or turning down bouts, assertions Basharat firmly denied while stating the comments caused reputational damage.
Basharat suggested that White may not be fully informed about backstage contract negotiations handled by other executives. Following recent surgery, Basharat indicated he is in no rush to sign with a new organization, though his manager is actively communicating with other promotions. While not completely ruling out a future return to the UFC, Basharat emphasized that he does not need the promotion to achieve a successful career.
