The Story in 60 Seconds

Undefeated bantamweight contender Farid Basharat has been removed from the UFC roster after completing his contract. Despite extending his professional record to 16-0 with a July victory over John Garza, the promotion chose not to offer the 29-year-old fighter a new deal, making him a free agent.

Basharat went 7-0 inside the octagon after earning his UFC contract on Dana White's Contender Series in 2022, climbing into the top 10 at 135 pounds. His departure follows the earlier exit of his older brother Javid Basharat, who also left the UFC to sign with the PFL.
