Former UFC two-division champion Henry Cejudo has called for veteran referee Herb Dean to step away from officiating following several controversial incidents. Speaking on the Pound 4 Pound podcast alongside Kamaru Usman, Cejudo criticized Dean's continued assignments from athletic commissions, arguing that Dean lacks accountability and needs to take a break from refereeing.
Cejudo pointed to recent controversial bouts, including Esteban Ribovics' stoppage of King Green at UFC 332 and an unpunished illegal knee during a Contender Series fight between Ian Escuza and Luca Borando. He also referenced Alex Pereira's past complaints regarding missed fouls during his interim title loss to Ciryl Gane.
