Jean Silva confident for Carlos Prates vs. Islam Makhachev: ‘The moment he lands his hand, the fight is over’

Jean Silva expressed full confidence that his Fighting Nerds teammate Carlos Prates will defeat UFC welterweight champion Islam Makhachev. Prates reportedly has an agreement in place with the UFC to challenge for the 170-pound belt, with the official date and location still pending. Silva stated that Makhachev will be unable to survive five rounds against Prates' formidable striking power.

Prates earned his championship opportunity after earning stoppage victories over former champions Leon Edwards and Jack Della Maddalena. Silva, who is pursuing his own title shot at featherweight after defeating Jose Delgado, attributed the rising success of their Sao Paulo-based team to detailed preparation and work ethic.
