UFC star Joe Pyfer believes Nassourdine Imavov deserves a middleweight title shot ahead of former champion Khamzat Chimaev.
UFC middleweight Joe Pyfer has stated that Nassourdine Imavov deserves the next shot at Sean Strickland's middleweight championship. Imavov is currently on an impressive five-fight winning streak, which includes victories over Israel Adesanya and Brendan Allen. Pyfer believes this run of form makes Imavov the rightful number one contender for the title.
Pyfer also argued against former champion Khamzat Chimaev receiving an immediate rematch for the belt. He noted that Chimaev has dealt with recent injuries and suggested he should focus on his health before returning to the octagon, rather than jumping straight back into a title fight.
