Retired UFC fighter Matt Brown announced on X that he is launching Immortal Fighting Championship, a striking-only combat sports organization. The promotion is planned to feature a Muay Thai ruleset without grappling, addressing an avenue long championed by UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Brown indicated the new league aims to address combat sports issues such as fighter pay structure and glove design to prevent eye pokes. He noted that fights will likely take place in a ring rather than a cage, permitting clinches with active offense.
