Merab Dvalishvili regained 19 pounds within five hours of making championship weight for his upcoming bout at UFC 333 in Abu Dhabi. After officially hitting the 135-pound bantamweight limit, Dvalishvili shared a social media video showing the scale at 154 pounds after re-hydrating, noting that he had only consumed liquids before starting to eat.
The contest serves as a trilogy match against Petr Yan, with the rivals having split their first two meetings. Dvalishvili won their initial 2023 clash by unanimous decision, while Yan claimed the bantamweight title from him at UFC 323 in late 2025.
