Raul Rosas Jr. submitted Colby Covington in only 43 seconds during a submission-only grappling match at Hype Fighting in Italy on Tuesday. Rosas stepped into the contest on short notice after Dillon Danis withdrew. Despite facing a significant size disadvantage, the UFC bantamweight quickly executed a takedown, took Covington's back, and forced a tap out via a rear-naked choke.
Following the victory, Rosas reiterated his primary ambition to become the youngest champion in UFC history. Covington offered no excuses for the quick defeat, noting it was his first jiu-jitsu competition in years as he shifts focus toward an upcoming wrestling match against Khamzat Chimaev in Abu Dhabi.
