Jesse Love was unable to put this championship away when presented the opportunity…

Carson Kvapil claimed victory at Martinsville Speedway, earning veteran crew chief Rodney Childers his first career Martinsville grandfather clock trophy. Kvapil held off JR Motorsports teammate Justin Allgaier in the closing laps to secure the win and reignite his own championship aspirations. The result produced a 1-2 finish for the JR Motorsports team.
Allgaier took over the NASCAR O'Reilly points lead with his runner-up result after previous leader Jesse Love suffered mechanical issues and crashed out to finish 30th. Corey Day finished third to remain 23 points back, leaving the championship wide open heading into the finale at Homestead.
