Chevrolet achieved a historic 1st through 6th place sweep at the NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega, marking the manufacturer's first such result since November 2013 at Phoenix Raceway. Kyle Larson led the sweep by capturing his first-ever superspeedway victory in a chaotic photo finish, extending his championship points advantage to +73.
The top-six sweep uniquely featured six drivers representing five different racing teams: Hendrick Motorsports, Hyak Motorsports, Trackhouse Racing, Haas Factory Team, and Spire Motorsports. In total, Chevrolet secured eight of the top-ten finishing positions, with Ford's Todd Gilliland falling to seventh on the final lap and Toyota's Denny Hamlin placing eighth.
