Denny Hamlin proud of season despite another likely missed title

Denny Hamlin stated that he considers his season a success despite facing another likely missed opportunity to capture a NASCAR Cup Series championship. Entering his planned penultimate campaign, Hamlin trails points leader Kyle Larson by 73 points heading into Martinsville. Larson's victory at Talladega has given him a dominant position to potentially clinch the title one race early.

Speaking on his Actions Detrimental podcast, Hamlin acknowledged overcoming significant personal adversity, including the loss of his father in an offseason house fire and 23XI Racing's antitrust trial against NASCAR. Hamlin also credited Larson's strong postseason run, noting that Larson deserves the championship title if he closes it out.
