Kasey Kahne wasn't planning a full-time NASCAR comeback. Then a conversation with Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson changed everything.

Kasey Kahne is officially coming out of retirement to return to full-time NASCAR racing in 2027. The 18-time NASCAR Cup Series winner will drive the No. 77 Chevrolet Silverado RST for Spire Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, marking his first full-time campaign in the sport since stepping away in 2018 due to health issues.
Kahne revealed that he was not initially looking for a full-time return until an unexpected conversation at the Knoxville Nationals opened the door. Spire Motorsports confirmed the signing, which will see the 46-year-old pursue the 2027 Truck Series championship.
