Layne Riggs claims his team can "flip the script pretty fast." He'll need to do exactly that if he wants a shot at winning The Chase in the trucks series.

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series regular-season champion Layne Riggs is aiming to rebound at Charlotte Motor Speedway after falling 37 points behind standings leader Kaden Honeycutt. Despite earning six victories this season, Riggs dropped in the points race following finishes of 32nd and 19th to open the Chase playoffs. Honeycutt took over the championship lead after winning his third race of the year at Kansas Speedway.
Riggs, who previously won at Charlotte in May, is targeting the upcoming race to begin closing the deficit across the final five events. Across NASCAR's three national series, every regular-season champion currently trails the standings lead, with Denny Hamlin trailing Kyle Larson in Cup and Justin Allgaier behind Sheldon Creed in the secondary series.
