Max Verstappen extended his unique Formula 1 record after securing his 74th career victory at the Mexico City Grand Prix. The win pushed his tally to 40 career victories in seasons where Red Bull did not win the constructors' championship, extending a record he previously took from Michael Schumacher.
Beyond the Flag highlights that Verstappen now holds 28 race wins in seasons where his team failed to finish inside the top two in the constructors' standings. Despite being eliminated from the 2026 championship hunt behind world champion Kimi Antonelli, Verstappen remains the betting favorite for the 2027 title.
