The initial post-Talladega point standings posted by NBC caused some confusion among NASCAR fans.

NASCAR did not alter the Cup Series race results following Sunday's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway despite fan confusion caused by an incorrect television graphic. The initial post-race championship standings broadcast on NBC displayed inaccurate point gaps for Chase Briscoe and Joey Logano. NASCAR confirmed all unofficial results without making any adjustments to the final order or points.
The error stemmed strictly from the televised broadcast graphic rather than official scoring changes or unexpected penalty points. Kyle Larson continues to lead the Cup Series championship standings with 2,441 points, holding a 73-point cushion over Denny Hamlin with two races remaining in the 2026 postseason.
