Tyler Reddick was the driver to beat at the start of the year, but he's faded to the point where the championship crown is out of reach.

Tyler Reddick acknowledged that his chances of winning the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series championship are effectively over following an eighth-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The result left Reddick 114 points behind championship leader Kyle Larson. Reddick stated that the 23XI Racing team is now focused on winning races to get their program back in the right direction.
The setback marks a steep decline after an historic start to the season, during which Reddick won the first three races and five of the first ten. A challenging second half, marked by on-track incidents, execution issues, and an average finish of 16.93 over the last 16 races, ultimately derailed his championship campaign.
