Anthony Davis explained the reasoning behind his 2025 request for the Los Angeles Lakers to acquire another center prior to his departure from the team. Speaking on the Numbers On The Board podcast, Davis shared that he was playing at around 268 pounds and felt heavy, which made banging against physical opposing centers such as Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid especially grueling.
Davis noted that he felt best playing power forward rather than center.
