Hawks get unique preseason opportunity with contender up next

Zach Langley writes that the Atlanta Hawks face a unique preseason matchup as they travel to play the San Antonio Spurs. The exhibition game marks San Antonio's first appearance since losing the NBA Finals to the New York Knicks. Atlanta enters the contest having already played a preseason game against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Langley argues Atlanta could exploit early rust if San Antonio sits starters or eases back into action. The writer highlights the potential defensive matchup for Onyeka Okongwu and Jock Landale against Victor Wembanyama as valuable preparation, while suggesting Jalen Johnson could be rested.
