Injuries are ravaging the start of the NBA regular season…
The Indiana Pacers played an NBA regular-season game against the Atlanta Hawks with only six available players due to a massive wave of injuries and mandatory rest. Despite the severe roster shortage, Rick Carlisle's team pushed Atlanta before narrowly losing 104-108. The match marks the first time Indiana competed with just six players since the aftermath of the 2004 brawl with the Detroit Pistons.
Indiana's list of absences included key figures such as Tyrese Haliburton, Pascal Siakam, Andrew Nembhard, and late scratch Kelly Oubre Jr. The team relied heavily on two-way contract players Braden Smith, Jalen Slawson, and Kobe Brown, with Quenton Jackson playing the fewest minutes of the rotation at 35.
