Did Jayson Tatum know? Celtics star addresses rumors surrounding Jaylen Brown trade

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has addressed rumors regarding his involvement in the blockbuster trade that sent Jaylen Brown to the Philadelphia 76ers for Paul George and draft picks. Speaking on his offseason miniseries, Tatum maintained that he had no input in the move and was completely caught off guard when informed during a pickup run in Las Vegas.

Hardwood Houdini's Ben Handler notes that while media figures have speculated Tatum played a role, both Tatum and Celtics president Brad Stevens maintain Tatum was uninvolved. The writer suggests that while it is hard to believe a franchise player was unaware, Tatum's surprise appeared genuine and he ultimately chose to trust the front office.
