No word yet on whether Mikel Brown Jr. will make his preseason debut Monday night in Washington vs. the Wizards and overall No. 1 pick, A.J. Dybantsa. A lot presumably will depend on how he does during practice on Sunday…

Anticipation is building for Brooklyn Nets rookie Mikel Brown Jr. to make his preseason debut after rolling his left ankle before training camp. The No. 6 overall draft pick could potentially debut on Monday against the Washington Wizards, depending on his progress in Sunday practice, or in Wednesday's preseason finale against the Miami Heat.
Nets general manager Sean Marks and veteran forward Julius Randle both praised the 20-year-old guard for his vocal leadership, confidence, and advanced court vision. Brown Jr. has focused on building physical strength and slowing down his pace while learning to pair effectively in the backcourt alongside teammate Egor Demin.
