NBA legend Charles Barkley has criticized TNT for how it handled the transition of Inside the NBA to ESPN. Barkley revealed that he first learned about the show's move from text messages sent by ESPN personalities welcoming him to the network, rather than hearing the news directly from TNT executives.
Barkley stated that ESPN figures including Scott Van Pelt, Brian Windhorst, Elle Duncan, and Bob Myers contacted him before TNT called approximately 90 minutes later. The Hall of Famer expressed frustration at having to learn about the move through the internet and outside contacts before receiving official confirmation.
