For years, LaMelo Ball was everything for the Charlotte Hornets. As their only star and last source of hope, it was tough to imagine a world where they willingly moved on from the star point guard.
Charlotte Hornets guard Brandon Miller spoke out regarding the summer trade that sent star point guard LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Speaking on SiriusXM, Miller reflected on departing teammates Ball, Miles Bridges, and Mark Williams, calling them brothers while acknowledging the business reality of the NBA. Following the departures, Miller is stepping into the primary leadership role in Charlotte alongside teammate Kon Knueppel ahead of the new season.
Miller stated that the Hornets' ultimate target this season is reaching the playoffs after falling in the play-in tournament last year. The young guard averaged 20.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game last season and is reportedly in line for a potential five-year, $200 million maximum contract extension with Charlotte.
